California Public Utilities Commission-Supplier Clearinghouse Minority Business PUC_logo_Enterprise (MBE)

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) created The Supplier Clearinghouse to implement guidelines designed to encourage, recruit, and utilize Women- and Minority-owned Businesses by participating utilities. The Clearinghouse is a Commission-supervised entity whose primary purpose is to audit and verify the status of woman and minority-owned businesses, and to establish and maintain a database of woman, minority, and service-disabled veteran owned businesses that is accessible to the CPUC and to participating utilities.

California Unified Certification Program

U.S. Department of Transportation Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority Diversity & Economic Opportunity Department Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE).

The California Unified Certification Program (CUCP) provides “one-stop shopping” certification services to minority and women businesses seeking to participate as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) on contracts funded by the United States Department of Transportation.

Metro has established a Small Business Enterprise Program (SBE) designed for emerging businesses. The SBE Program is geared to increase small business accessibility to negotiated Metro contracts funded exclusively with local or state dollars.

Southern California Minority Business Development Council, Inc. (SCMBDC)

Is the largest nonprofit minority business advocacy organization in the region. Its mission is to support and develop minority business enterprises to compete and succeed in the open market. The objectives are primarily, opening corporate purchasing and contracting opportunities, providing corporations with information on qualified minority suppliers, and enhancing employment in the minority community through increased corporate purchases.

The Procurement Division vigorously promotes DGSequal opportunities for small businesses to compete for qualified procurement awards. The Division delegates purchasing authority; certifies Small and/or Disabled Veteran businesses to do business with the State; sponsors the Small Business Council; participates in the Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise Council; and provides innovative purchasing methods that save taxpayers’ dollars, integrating quality solutions to meet customers’ needs.
